On behalf of the citizens of Sussex, it is a pleasure to welcome you to Sussex - the Heart Of Kings County and Gateway To The Fundy Experience. Photo supplied by Jamie Roach of Sunnyside Media,roachj@nbnet.nb.ca.
This community offers a relaxed pace of life, friendly people and a lifestyle bound by the land. Our history goes back to Loyalist times and our people are descendants of farmers, woodsmen, miners, merchants and even ship captains.
Enjoy everything at your leisure from antique and craft shops to outdoor cafes and even the oldest livestock auction in Atlantic Canada. We have motels, dining facilities and attractions a plenty. Be sure to visit our Tourist Information & Interpretive Centre at our historic train station. Visit the NB Agricultural Museum on Perry Street and the Sussex Museum, Gallery & Tea Room on Maple Avenue. You won't want to miss the NB Antique Auto Giant Flea Market in August or the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta in September - huge annual events in Sussex.
You can enjoy golfing, hiking and fishing throughout the picturesque valleys in our area. Travel the back country roads and discover the 16 famous covered bridges of Kings County. Visit Poley Mountain Ski Resort or the Sussex Curling Club for Winter time fun. We offer a photographer's delight of spectacular scenery and events throughout the year!
We're at the junction of the Fundy Coastal Drive and the River Valley Scenic Drive. So much to see and do. Make Sussex your home-away-from-home and enjoy day trips to Magnetic Hill, the Hopewell Rocks, Fundy National Park and the Fundy Trail Parkway; to name a few. Also, we're the central location between Saint John, Moncton and Fredericton - about an hour away.
